Coach Rachael Safirstein is a Westchester
County native who later moved to
Houston, Texas at age 15. As a youth player for the Katy Hurricanes,
Challenge Soccer, and in the South
Texas Olympic Developmental Program
(ODP), she competed at the state, regional, and national level. At
the Club level, Safirstein's Katy
Hurricanes won two South Texas State
Championships and competed for the Regional Title in Greensboro, South
Carolina. She was later recruited
by the University of Texas Longhorns.
As a junior, Rachael was the first Lady Longhorn named as Soccer America's
Player of the Week Team.
During her career with the Longhorns – NCAA Division I – the
team consistently ranked in the national top twenty-five. While playing,
Safirstein was named to the Scholar Athlete Honor Roll.
Rachael Safirstein played and coached throughout North America and
Europe. Most recently she led her U12 Briarcliff Killer Bees to their
first State Cup Championship in 2005, and a second place finish in
the Mid Atlantic Premier Soccer League (MAPS). In addition, Safirstein
was the head coach of the Girl U13 NY Rough Riders Super Y League
and sent two players to National Camp in Bradenton, Florida. Currently,
she has seven players in the New York State Olympic Development Program.
In 2002 Safirstein led her Manhattan Sirens to their first State Cup
Semifinal, and coached a U18 girl's team to the Quarterfinals of the
Dana Cup in Denmark. Safirstein is currently coaching in Westchester
and is the founder and President of F.C. Sting, which trains and develops
premier soccer players.

after several years as an ardent (and vocal) supporter and assistant trainer for
the team. Dave brings a lifetime of competitive athletic experience,
as well as knowledge of the game and experience as part of the team's management. |
